The Loudest Voice

From The New Yorker : “The Loudest Voice on Showtime sizzles forth the story of the Republican media consultant and reprehensible television executive Roger Ailes . . . It is a pungent profile of a nauseating figure.” I worked with costume designer Katie Riley on the first and second episodes of this series as the assistant costume designer in charge of background. The first episode was set in 1995, and the second in 2001. Although Fox News and Roger Ailes are modern subjects, the story opens twenty-five years ago. However nuanced and subtle the style distinctions may be, it was still a different time period and with different ways of dressing from today and we treated it as such. Referencing historic photos and video footage, we strove to replicate these true events and way of dress as accurately as possible.
